Cristina Onciu is originally from Romania, Europe. She grew up in a multicultural environment, exposed to a tapestry of languages, traditions, and perspectives, laying the foundation for her appreciation of diversity.
She earned her Bachelor’s in Economics and Master’s in Market Research in Romania, followed by a scholarship for future business leaders in Germany. She worked in market research and accounting while a student, followed by close to five years as a Management Consultant, having traveled and interacted throughout Europe with a variety of businesses, organizations and leaders. Besides her native language she is fluent in English, Italian and German. She came to the US in her late twenties to pursue an MBA in Finance, followed by a Post Master Certificate in Accounting,both at Monmouth University. She is a member of the international business honor society Beta Gamma Sigma, having graduated among the top of her class. She later on worked mainly as a Business Analyst/Data Analyst and in Project Management in various sectors such as IT, Healthcare, E-commerce, B2B.
Aside from her educational and professional background, Cristina enjoyed practicing a variety of sports - swimming, skiing(competitive), ice-skating, basketball, soccer, chess (competitive).
Over the course of the past 12 years, Keansburg has become part of her heart. She is a devoted wife and mother of two young children. Throughout time she established great friendships here and became interested in getting involved in the future of Keansburg. In the past five years she has been a frequent and active participant at the council meetings, with a particular interest in financial transparency and accountability.
Her diverse background and interests have not only shaped her as an individual but have also enriched her perspective, allowing her to embrace life’s challenges with understanding, patience and resilience.
